Introduction
Abstract
3D reconstruction technology involves the collection and processing of data from various sensors, including LiDAR point cloud data, image data, and thermal imaging data, to achieve 3D modeling of objects and scenes. This technology is widely used in the built environment. This workshop will delve into point cloud 3D reconstruction technology and applications, including 3D mapping, automated processing of 3D point clouds, and the integration of point clouds with other modalities in real-world applications. The workshop will also address challenges in practical applications, including: (1) Data collection for 3D mapping and registration of multi-modal data; (2) Noise and errors in the automated processing of point clouds; (3) Exploration of other modal data in 3D reconstruction technology.
Session Overview
Emerging Technologies in 3D Mapping: This includes basic LiDAR SLAM mapping, self-supervised learning for depth perception and mapping, and neural radiance field-based 3D semantic mapping.
Automated Processing of 3D Point Clouds: Using registered point cloud and image data, deep learning models are applied to segment point cloud data and identify building components such as walls, windows, doors, floors, ceilings, and exterior walls. Based on the segmented point clouds, 3D data of the components is extracted to construct the model automatically.
Real-world Applications of Point Clouds and Other Modal Data: The integrated application of 3D point clouds and other modal data, exploring the fusion of thermal imaging and ground-penetrating radar data with 3D point cloud data for target identification and damage and anomaly detection.
